Helping Our Community “Connect to Healthier”
Long before the term “community health” was a buzzword in the healthcare industry Backus Hospital was focused on improving population health.
The hospital has always had a laser focus on the health needs of the communities we serve, crafting programs and services to ensure our neighbors get the care they deserve and have the tools and access they need to stay healthy.
In 2015, the hospital conducted a health needs assessment to find what the community thought were areas of greatest need. The report, done every three years, gives us a roadmap to work with community partners to improve the population’s overall health. It was no surprise to us that in areas identified as a “top concern” or “areas of opportunity for improvement,” Backus is already ahead of the curve building a strong foundation for improving community health.
