HOCC has an epic go-live

The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) joined MidState and other Hartford HealthCare (HHC) entities on the Care Connect and PeopleSoft 9.2 systems on April 1. Catherine Stevens, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, vice president of Patient Care Services in the Central Region, said that the launch was a success and was grateful for everyone’s efforts.

“I want to thank everyone for their hard work in using our safety and leadership behaviors while making this very significant change,” said Stevens. “I also want to acknowledge the staff members from Hartford Hospital and MidState who came over to HOCC during the transition to share their experience and knowledge from the conversions they experienced at their hospitals. This experience showed the truly extraordinary resources we have across the system.”

"Truly an excellent job by a phenomenal team.”

Stevens said that staff members went above and beyond and it was a consistent collaborate effort from all teams throughout the conversion weekend. Dr. Jonathan Velez, past Central Region vice president of Medical Affairs, agreed with Stevens.

“This is perhaps the smoothest go-live I have experienced in my career,” said Dr. Velez. “Providers and staff are well prepared and learning quickly and morale remains high three days into it. The support from internal super users and external consultants has been top notch. Truly an excellent job by a phenomenal team.”
