Backus patients now have a new defense against cancer and other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. In 2016, the hospital began offering endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) which using ultrasound technology allowing physicians to see organs and structures not typically visible during gastrointestinal endoscopy.
