Because Every Moment Matters

This past year we grew stronger as a united Central Region and achieved great accomplishments.

I truly believe that our success this year can be attributed to our people taking the time to do the little things and make sure that every moment matters. Because of this, our hospitals continue to provide excellent care to the communities we serve.

There is no better example of how making every moment matter can positively affect a region than looking at the work that has been done with our High Reliability training. Since we started measuring safety issues a number of years ago, our rate is currently at the lowest it has ever been for both MidState and The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) as well as in the Hartford HealthCare system. High Reliability depends on every person being in the moment and not taking little things for granted. The safety of our patients, visitors and staff is our top priority throughout Hartford HealthCare.

This year we achieved another great accomplishment. MidState Medical Center, along with Windham Hospital in the East Region, became the first hospitals in our system to go live with CareConnect. The Hospital of Central Connecticut will follow with CareConnect in April 2017. I would like to recognize and extend my appreciation to our entire team for their dedication and commitment to making this moment a huge success. We look forward to the entire Central Region becoming connected next spring.

In this annual report, you’ll read more about the many accomplishments the Central Region has achieved this year. As we enter into the fourth year as a region of the Hartford HealthCare system, let’s look back on how far we have come, the progress we have made together, and the continued success we will realize in the years to come.
